OutServe to Host Summit to Address Inequalities for Gay Servicemembers and Their Families

The Washington Blade reports OutServe, an association of actively-serving LGBT military personnel, will host a summit for gay servicemembers and their partners May 14-15 at the Renaissance Hotel, DuPont Circle in Washington, DC. The summit will bring together servicemembers and their familes to talk about issues related to joint assignments, health and surviving partner benefits, housing as well as a day to meet with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss these issues directly.

“Our goal with this summit is to bring together the military community to address the issues that affect LGBT military families and how to solve them,…We need to educate decision-makers, as private citizens, how our families are affected — and send a clear message that our families matter.” — Air Force 1st Lt. Josh Seefried, co-director of OutServe from The Washington Blade article by Chris Johnson
