On May 9, just one day after North Carolina voted to give no recognition at all to LGBT families, the Family Equality Council, and organization that “connects, supports, and represents the one million lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender parents in this country and the two million children they are raising,” rung the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
Ringing the closing bell for the NYSE is considered quite an honor and is sometimes a high profile event for an organization, corporation or individual. Added to this Family Equality Council was celebrating its 30th anniversary. All reasons that demonstrate why it gets better.
