Now this is how you make a stand there and sing video.
I’ve never really liked the concert or performance style of videos much, but this one does it up right. That’s partially because the song was written to be peformed; partially because of the artists themsleves;–Kenny and Tim could just stand there mute for three minutes and forty-seven seconds and we’d still watch it–and partially because whoever did the direction for this video knew how to shoot it. They knew how to make it seem like you were getting a personal concert right in your living room vs. just tossing together some leftover concert or garage band footage.
The only thing that I didn’t like was the airplane. What was up with that? I kept expecting some country legend to come walking down off it, but no. Kenny and Tim just head over to it after they are done peforming. What? Are they getting ready to head off to their joint concerts of 2012? Flying to some island get-a-way weekend? Going to jet their way into some municiple airport and hit a local Boar’s Nest for some Corona? Is that how they’re gonna feel like a rockstar? With it’s open ended conculsion, the jet footage just serves to distract ya from a is otherwise a great video performance from two of country’s modern-day legends.
