Today in LGBT History/Why It Gets Better: PFLAG Has Grown

Rachel Maddow of the MSNBC commentary program, The Rachel Maddow Show, recently paid tribute to Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) founder Jeanne Manford, who passed away in January 2013. What makes this piece so powerful is the interview footage of Jeanne herself at about 4:10.

As Rachel notes after the footage PFLAG now has grown from this one woman to an organization with 350 affilates.

Someday Jeanne Manford will be all our parents. Someday, all our parents will be proud of their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender children.
