Highlighting Marriage Inequality: Morristown, TN

The WE DO campaign from The Campaign for Southern Equality highlights discrimination against same-sex couples by having the couples go into town halls and courthouses across the south and request marriage licenses; knowing the license will be denied or rejected. This Campaign is used as a form of civil protest against the unjust bans against gay couples experiencing and sharing the joy, security and instant recognition that comes with getting married.

Matt and Raymie’s video of their attempt at requesting a marriage license is poignant not so much for their action but for the speech they give about the WE DO campaign, and their feelings on why their love should be just as valid and recognized as any straight couple.
